A metal rebar coupler is a device used to join two pieces of rebar (reinforcing bar) together. Rebar is a common steel bar used as a tension device in reinforced concrete and reinforced masonry structures to strengthen and hold the concrete in tension. Couplers are used in construction to create a continuous line of reinforcement without the need for overlapping rebars. Here are some key points about metal rebar couplers: Types of Rebar Couplers: Threaded Couplers: These have internal threads and are screwed onto the ends of rebars, which have been threaded. Grout-Filled Couplers: These are filled with a special grout that adheres to the rebar ends, providing a strong connection. Swaged Couplers: These are mechanically deformed (swaged) around the rebar ends to create a strong bond. Welded Couplers: These are welded to the ends of rebars to create a continuous line.
