Lemongrass essential oil is distinguished by its distinctive citrus scent. Extracted from the lemongrass tree- a grassy plant found in tropical areas, lemongrass essential oil is considered extremely effective in curing a wide array of conditions and diseases. Owing to its remedial and antibacterial properties, it can heal wounds and prevent skin infections.

A study by B. Wannisorn, S. Jarikesam, and T. Soontorntanasart in 1996 centered on the antifungal properties of lemongrass essential oil says that it can deter all 4 types of fungi quite easily. Lemongrass also finds a mention in Ayurveda as Bhutrin. Cool in effect (Virya) and pungent (Rasa), lemongrass is believed to cure Kapha, Pitta, and Vata doshas.
