Honey, a sweet and viscous liquid loved for centuries, is a natural product made by bees.
Bees collect nectar, a sugary liquid from flowers. They store this nectar in a special honey sac within their bodies and return to the hive. There, the nectar is regurgitated, passed between bees, and undergoes enzymatic changes. This process breaks down complex sugars into simpler ones, creating the characteristic sweetness and long shelf life of honey. The bees then dehydrate the nectar by fanning it with their wings, concentrating it further before sealing it in wax comb cells for storage.
Honey's uses are as diverse as its flavors. It's a natural sweetener for beverages, baked goods, and even glazes. Honey also has a long history of medicinal use. Some studies suggest it may have antibacterial properties and be helpful for wound healing and sore throats
