We have an in-house department for making and exposing the screens.

1. Preparing the Screen: A screen, often made of polyester or nylon, is stretched tightly over a frame. The screen is coated with a light-sensitive emulsion.
2. Creating the Stencil: A design or image is transferred onto the screen using a stencil. This can be done using photolithographic techniques where UV light hardens the emulsion except for the areas blocked by the design.
3. Setting Up the Print Surface: The substrate, which can be made of various materials such as plastics, textiles, paper, or glass, is secured underneath the screen.
4. Applying the Ink: A blade or squeegee is then moved across the screen to fill the open mesh apertures with ink. This action pushes the ink through the mesh onto the substrate.
5. Ink Transfer: A reverse stroke with the squeegee then causes the screen to momentarily touch the substrate along a line of contact. The ink wets the substrate and is pulled out of the mesh apertures as the screen springs back after the blade has passed.
6. Curing and Finishing: After the ink is transferred, it needs to be cured and sometimes treated to ensure durability.
